Ukrainian soprano – two times award winner at prestigious Wagner Society Competition
On November 23, 2019, the Wagner Society competition was held at Wigmore Hall in London. The young Ukrainian opera singer Nataliia Temnyk enchanted not only the audience, but also the distinguished jury, which was headed by the famous opera critic Nicholas Payne. Prominent judges from the opera world awarded her 3rd prize and she was selected as the “audience choice” winner.
“I need to take a breath before announcing this young woman. She is Ukranian, petite with a sublime voice! Her Wagner aria was superbly executed but it was singing Verdi’s Ave Maria (Otello), that Nataliia Temnyk brought the house down! Goose bumps, heart racing, I dropped all my papers when I rose from my seat”.
